Switched from MTN (hate MTN with the most utmost passion but that's for another day) to 8ta and could not be happier, the speeds are great and service is outstanding.
Well done 8ta![]()

Give it time....
meh... for me so far so good.
Same here, best value for money at the moment for mobile broadband and speed![]()
8ta was amazing for the first 2 months or so (around January), over 7.8 Mbps downlink speeds, stable pings and good overall stability. Now it's actually a pain to browse, can't get a pingtest better than D-grade, downlink speed maxes out at around 200kb/s, disconnects and latency spikes all over the place. Can't download, browse, play online games. It took me about an hour of trying to get this message sent.
I would link speedtest results, but the page has been loading for the past 6 minutes.
I'm having the same issues today. Really wanted to watch the Stormers game this morning (supersport streaming) but throughput is crazy slow. I can't even get a speedtest to work
EDIT: Finally got a speedtest to work http://www.speedtest.net/result/1905115298.png And that's on 90% signal quality on my router. Pretty shocking I'd say!
In South Africa even the information superhighway has potholes on it.
Just wish I could get a constantly reliable connection to 8ta, always have good signal strentgh, but connection varies from none to very good.![]()
The lowest common denominator, always wins, ALWAYS - Problem is no-one is doing anything, to lift the lowest common denominator
Should I get 60GB + 60GB? Been staying at my new place for about 2 months. Telkom haven't been able to install my land line since the developers filled the trunking to my unit with cement.
I'm having SERIOUS uncapped withdrawl. Buying 2GB + 1GB specials is running a good couple of hundred R a month.
Based on OP I shouldn't regret parting with R1800.00... right?
