I met ghoti back in '99 off IRC along with a bunch of you other punks e.g. Sinbad, Dolby, Gru, etc. , while still using the nick Voice-From-The-Toilet , ergo: voicy.

R7 callmore weekends were awesome, but Telkom DEFINITELY tripped lines there to pocket more cash, we were all sure of it.

I remember wrapping my 28.8 microcom deskporte modem in a pillow late at night when connecting so that the handshaking noise wouldn't wake my parents. (Not all modems could be muted)

I remember using LOGO on what was literally still a dos box, as well as running PC tools to "Park" the hard drive before switching off the pc.

My 1st pc in '93 was an old 8086 with a 17MB hard drive & cga monitor, allowing me to play Accolade's GP, Sierra's Police quest, Monty, Airborne Ranger, PoP.. as well as launching QBasic to play nibbles (snake) and Gorilla.

While I was not one of the first South African IRC`er`s I was one of the first two East London IRC`s. In 1996 the first person ( a chap called Womble) from East London created and joined #East_London. I was the second person to join that channel.
