This is one of the problems with patents. You think of an idea and patent it. Never mind that your idea is not possible at this stage.

Reading the headline, I was like , but after having read the article, it seems like something that could well be of use.

But seriously now: Why such an invasive procedure? Get a damn fully functional TriCorder working and these implants won't be neccessary.
