The gantries should be dismantled and removed.

They can be used later when new toll roads are built elsewhere.

Government will just have to settle with the Austrians. OTOH, if bribery and corruption can be proved they should be sent packing with no compensation.

I think that the Free State should pay for etolling for the whole country.

While at it they can pay for VAT and Income Tax as well.

If the fuel levy is increased to cover the toll charge, can I use my petrol lawnmower on the new roads. If I can't it is unfair to myself and all other petrol mower owners.

Maybe a blockade of the roads by irate mower owners.

Also the cost of garden services will go up to compensate for the increased levy.

Buy an electric mower. They are less maintenance anyway.

I think we should go the Belgian route. They went without a government for 541 days, and by all accounts things worked brilliantly there. There was still tax, social services still existed, but without a government there was no corruption. No changing things for changes sake, no stupid laws were passed. I really think most countries could really do with a bit of the Belgian way.

most governments exist just to justify their existences .... I am all for down scaling the gov to the bare essentials .. i.e. basic services ... the whole point of the gov in the first place !!

A lot of people come to Gauteng from 8 other provinces for job opportunities. Once they are employed and have an income, some of the money is used to support their families living in other provinces. So those families benefit from the improved freeways.
