Can anyone explain to me just how they are able to undercut their competitors by such a large amount? Correct me if I'm wrong but some of those deals seem very close to overseas prices.

I had a look on gumtree and you can't even get an Ideos SECONDHAND for the price 8ta is selling it. I also don't know how thgey can offer these things for so cheap. Maybe they're running at a loss and don't care about profit because big brother ownz all your money anyway

I know how they can sell it for that much.
Let me run you through a scenario.

Customer: Hi may i have one of your 8ta specials
Sales Guy: Sorry which ones
Customer: The ones in this brochure *shows him the specials*
Sales Guy: Sorry sir but we are not running that special, go to XYZ store.
Customer: But it says your store is participating in this special *Points at store name*
Sales Guy: Oh, we don't have any stock of those phones.
Customer: So which is it, do you have no stock or are you not running the special?
Sales Guy: I cannot say. Go to store XYZ.
Customer: Ok well thanks for nothing.

There is no point bothering. The places i did get hold of are out of stock and they will not be getting stock anymore as its all old stock. Just keep an eye on bid or buy for some people wanting to make a quick profit.

This is insane! It is R600 cheaper to get a Samsung Galaxy SII from 8ta on prepaid than the pay in on a 12 month Vodacom TopUP 200s contract.

Arcs aplenty on gumtree too. Which leads me to think akescpt's theory may not be too far off. This sucks! I was soooooo having my eye on that SGS2.
