Another study confirming what most of us here know.

We were quite clearly discussing members of the myBB forum. The religious ones are far less (if at all) proselytizing than the atheists.

Fair enough, in any event, I only brought the poll up due to your completely unfounded claim that atheists are probably in the minority, but on reflection, you are probably right, given the general balance of theists/non in the general population. However, this site would tend to draw somewhat more educated people, so perhaps it does lean in that direction, who can say?

The best we can do is try obtain data by way of polls. In that regard, I recall there used to be a sticky in PD, a poll as well, asking people what their religious leanings were - Last time I saw that thread, the theists were leading the pack, so either they've decided to become silent for some reason, or the demographics are changing.

It doesn't matter all that much though, obviously. I do find it interesting though.

I watched this video last night and wanted to share it, this thread looked like a good place. Penn Jillette's advice on how to become an atheist - read the bible. I couldn't agree more.

Simply reading it is not enough, question and analyse it. There are people out there that have memorised entire religious texts and they have not changed one little bit, if anything they are more devout.

That's why I posted in this thread It's a given that analytical thinking is a prerequisite.
