In which area/s do you mainly use the service?
De Kelders, Gansbaai
What can Vodacom do to make you a happier customer?
1) Fire their call centre
2) Provide me with a working data service at a fair price, not like where I am a near unusable 2G connection with excuses such as the tower is overloaded
3) Not expire unused data, minutes
OR at least
Use up the earliest data/minutes first not last
Very happy with the quality of voice and sms service from Vodacom.
I normally use it in Bellville/Durbanville/Cape Town/Malmesbury.
My recommendation for Vodacom : Please create new voice/sms/data bundle contracts. Give us more choice.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 - It is the only phone you will ever need.

SMS wise I use Whatsapp. SMSes are to pricey especially when having long conversations. No problem with reliability. 2/5 for SMS
I'm not one to use voice calls, but when I do no problem. 4/5 for voice
Which gives a total rating of 3.5. I'll floor it to 3 when voting
In which area/s do you mainly use the service?
Plumstead, Cape Town
What can Vodacom do to make you a happier customer?
All I really need is good voice services and I feel vodacom has done this for me. So I am content with the current offerings. No drop calls, and reception generally good.
Maximus does not have a signature LOL
Durban: Musgrave/Berea
Voice: 4/5: Sound quality good, I don't seem to get dropped calls, very high price though, good thing I get 120 offpeak minutes. I think they could drop the price a bit more.
SMS: 2/5 unreliable, I have had a few instances where people have not got my sms, also the price is ridiculous, a relic of a bygone era, there needs to be a huge price drop for SMS IMO.
Sometimes I get this weird urge to argue with stupid people, lucky for me there are plenty around....
In which area/s do you mainly use the service?
Joburg CBD, North West Suburbs
What can Vodacom do to make you a happier customer?
Comprehensive review of pricing, especially in text messages (and bundles) and data.
Coverage is acceptable to good.
Service in call centres is good although I have dealt with the odd dud operator who messed up my request.
My use of VC is voice, data and text messaging.

What can Vodacom do to make you a happier customer?
1) Call Quality and Connectivity
- Voice call quality/connectivity needs to be improved.
- Most times I cannot hear the person on the other side.
- I often experience call drops and when it doesn't drop, the calls break up constantly whilst chatting.
- Sometimes the call I don't receive goes straight to voicemail and the person trying to contact me says my phone is off.
2) Data Connectivity
- Data connectivity needs to be improved. More often that not, I cannot get 3G coverage.
- It toggles mostly between EDGE and GPRS and they generally don't work.
3) Voice, Data & SMS Pricing
Pricing needs to be reduced for both voice, sms and data usage.
Suggestions:
- 10c per sms, flat rate, regardless of time of day.
- R1 per minute, flat rate, regardless of time of day.
- Data usage to be reduced to that of standard ADSL pricing.
4) Smartphone Contracts & Pricing
- Have options of data bundles included, with a minimum of 500MB.
- Contract should be reasonably priced regardless if customer has chosen data bundle with their contract or not.
- Unused data should not expire.
- Revise contract pricing.
- Wave upgrade and downgrade fees for contracts.
- Offer iPad contracts. Vodacom currently has many smartphones and some tablets on offer, but the iPad is a must have.
- Also look at other tablets to offer on contract. The more choices will attract customers.
5) Reward long-time customers.
6) Reduce roaming costs.
We're all running on caveman software...
My latest threads
Got a blackberry - it was considerably cheaper (to buy outright) than the other operators :-)
Activation etc went like a dream - no problem
Blackberry service is excruciatingly slow though :-(
Calls are incredibly expensive. If the termination rate has come down so much, why am I paying so much.
Biggest source of spam is messages from Vodacom itself. That's a horror story as impossible to shut off unwanted texts :-(
I use the service in the east rand and far east rand in Johannesburg.
I have found the service from vodacom to be good. Some days it seems that there is just no signal however. I can check both my phones and neither has signal. This can last for a few hours at a time.
As per all the others I would perfer more affordable call charges, but overall its as expected.

Also very helpful. Will stick them even though the expensive prepaid data bundle prices.

What can Vodacom do to make you a happier customer?
Less calls from Telesales groups offering me stuff I do not need, and less sms spam.
Better call charges. If it was not for OC and the vodacom Rep on the site, I wouldn't rate them highly with their support.
Better sms rates, the current rates are way overpriced, and deliveries are very slow most of the time.
Mainly use vodacom services in southern suburbs and cape town.
Voice- 4/5
Sms- 5/5
Never had much problems with vodacom but they can provide cheaper data rates, that would make me happy
In which area/s do you mainly use the service?
Johannesburg (Roodepoort, Honeydew Sandton, Illovo, Rosebank, Bramley, Highlands North, Sydenham, Linksfield, Tulisa Park, Wadeville)
Still get lots of dropped calls when using in Car (on Handsfree of course).
What can Vodacom do to make you a happier customer?
Improve handover between towers to reduce dropped calls.
Revise costs.
Drop the prices.
