I was raised as an SDA. Hated the Friday (sunset) of opening Sabbath. As a kid (4 - 8) I was forced to sit through (that felt like hours and hours) of song, praise and a whole lot of gobbledygook, that I did not understand, only to be repeated at sunset, Saturday night, closing of the Sabbath. And in between, we were not allowed to go swimming, playing with other kids or do any sports...
I understood what it was all about, later in life, but as a kid, I detested it with a passion. Oh...and they (don't know about now) had a terrible God that scared the bejeezuz out of me...always having me in His sights, watching, and waiting for me to make one wrong move, before zapping me...Ugh! Living in a constant state of extreme fear was not fun. It had a healthy contribution to my current view of religion...
Sooo, what's everyone doing tonight?
