    Had to Google that ...

A "supermoon" is the coincidence of a full moon (or a new moon) with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, or perigee, leading to the technical name for a supermoon of the perigee-syzygy of the Earth-Moon-Sun system. The association of the Moon with both oceanic and crustal tides has led to claims that the supermoon phenomenon may be associated with increased risk of events such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. However, the evidence of such a link is widely held to be unconvincing.

    Slightly :P

I sharpened the photo and added a little more saturation. I've just taken another now and the colouring is different - even with the saturation added.

EDIT : Oh - almost forgot ... I darkened the shadows slightly too

This is the first time I used my SO's camera. It's a SX40HS Canon, iso was on 400.

Don't think it was on HD or something. That looks SD, but maybe it's the zoom amount ?

If you look really carefully in the lower left quadrant ... you can see the American flag

I took a photo with the Lunar eclipse. Don't feel like climbing up with the 400mm + extender (the camera shake is pretty bad since I don't have a remote trigger).

You do know the size doesn't change?

Its just perspective that make it seems as if the the size shift as it moves away from the horizon.
