    Default Call center?? 087 310-2995

Anyone know who this number belongs to or where I can find out whose it is; 087 310-2995? I have been receieving unsolovited calls from them for the last few weeks at all time of the day and night. I am seriously considering going to my local police station and laying a charge it's so bad.

Hello Mr. 1 post, no introduction.

What are they calling you to sell?

    Is it an automated message?

    Hi

Yes, it's automated, the calls come through about three times a day at almost the same time (normally exactly 10am and again twice in the afternoon) although I've also had it at 4am. This has been happening for about two weeks now and is getting really annoying. There is some static on the line and as soon as you say something it hangs up. You cannot hear anything apart from the static, this is why I guess it must be automated.

If you call the number from a Telklom landline you get a message which says "The subscriber you have dialed is not available, please try again later", same message from a cell line. 087 numbers mostly belong to Vox and other VOIP providers. I have had no luck finding out who the number belongs to; a bit of research indicates that these calls are happening to quite a few people. And No, I am not Domtakacs; but he seems to be affected as well. I'd like to find out which call center its coming from and take some action, maybe I should go to SAPS and lay a charge, then they should trace the number and tell me who it belongs to....

Just discovered that the prefix 087 310 belongs to Vodacom Business, so it must be one of their customers originating these calls.

Done some more snooping, 087 310-2995 belongs to a company who answer their switchboard line (087 310-2997) as Woolworths Financial Services. I got confirmation from the switchboard operator and a call center agent called Grace that this is their number. I spoke to a few people who were all a bit wary of giving me many more details. It appears as if these calls originate from their outbound call center and that they are trying to solicit business. Apparently they do a bit more than just store cards for Woolworths. I am about to find their senior managements private numbers and call them.

Right, now that I've got that off my chest and hopefully closer to resolved let me ask who is interested in who I am and why do you need an introduction? eehellfire seemed quite miffed that I haven't done this yet?

Introduction please. It's only polite to introduce yourself and say hi in a new forum. Especially when your first post is a request

    OK, eehellfire

I am new here. I work in IP networking and telecoms in Africa, right now I work with VSAT technology. I enjoy travelling, reading and watch way too much TV and spend a lot of time on planes and in hotels.

So I just called 087 310 2997 after receiving yet another dud call from 087 310 2995. The lady answered confirming that it is Woolworths Financial Services. I then queried the 2995 number and she instantly denied that it belonged to Woolworths. When I began questioning I was cut off.

    Grrrrr.....
