Thread: OUTA - You can now contribute to the legal costs

  1. #1

Thumbs up OUTA - You can now contribute to the legal costs

    From their FB

You can now contribute to the legal costs by going to the following link http://www.outa.co.za/site/legal-fund/ as well as sending an sms. Just SMS the text NOETOLL to 40773 (seems to be R20, if you use sms)

    https://www.facebook.com/outasa

    Actual site link for EFT

    http://www.outa.co.za/site/legal-fund/

    :note

EFT would be better, because of costs going to network and or wasps.

Can I suggest people don't SMS, rather do an EFT even if it is still R20. With SMS, the Network/WASPs only pay over about half of the R20 to OUTA.

PS: Holy @#$@ lawyers earn a fortune! R600k for a few weeks work. Damn I chose the wrong career...

Either support OUTA or fall for this 419:

    From Raven Etolli
    Investment Officer,
    Ministry of Transport
    South African Governmetn,

    CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION

    Dear Friend,

My name is Raven Etolli and I am a very conserned employer with the South African National Road Agents. In our capacity as such, we have been most fortunate to offer a one-time only opportunity to extract $30,000,000,000 (Thirty billion united States dollars ONLY) from the network road users. This is unique opportunities for you my esteemed colleges to benefit from our plan.

Initially this system was meant to help build the roads in South africa but this plan has fallen apart and now these funds are needed to help offset these costs to develop, where I am sure you can help. To get these funds we have decided to make use of one or two outside road agents to help us and our affilliates in the roads to extract these funds.

To this end, I am sure you will know that I cannot disclose the content of the diplomatic investment but I can confirm that if you are will to participle in this investment, you will see tidy returns on your investment. For a very small fee of R50 (fifty south afrian Rands) I will return you a device which you can register with your own banking detail to make sure of your benefits from this scheme.

We only ask for that fee and then you will be able to offset some of your investign against the percentage return. I want you to get back to me so that I can give you the contact information of the diplomat in south Africa who have been waiting to get your information so that he can proceed with the delivery to your doorstep.

    Yours Sincerely,
    Raven Etolli

If the costs are mostly lawyers fees surely there are lawyers out there against tolling who will offer their services for free or maybe just really cheaply. Or are the lawyers just in it for the money?

OUTA have taken a decision to discontinue promoting the SMS contribution option, as it was being counter-productive to the effort. Too much of the revenue was lost to agent and admin costs (almost 40%) and the required levels of funding through this channel were just too low. OUTA urges all to deposit their contribution by EFT directly into the ABSA bank account, or through the “PayFast” option, as listed on the OUTA web site. Your support is much appreciated.
Also the site now has a meter so you can see where they are at:

Dude, if this is the only way we can fight against the system, then I say by all means. Let the lawyers get paid for doing their job. You want everything FREE FREE FREE. Free roads, free fight against toll roads

After reading the legal documents and affidavits submitted by the lawyers, I must hand it to the lawyers - y'all are darn smart and earn your pay. I especially enjoyed reading OUTA's lawyers demolishing every single one of the Gov's and SANRALs arguments. Better than most Comedies I've watched in my life.

The docs can be read on the OUTA website under the "Court Case" drop down.

I have made another decent contribution, but for the life of me I cannot see how they will raise enough funding !
