I'm not just 'relying' on IMDB, now is the first time i actually googled the show, i think its brilliant, i compare the directing and writing like Arrested Development, it might actually be under appreciated.

You said my standards are clearly not high, but there are plenty of film/tv critics and people thinking otherwise, but still, entertainment value is probably relative.

Lol, imdb? Wow. The fact that you rely on them speaks more about yourself than the show. Those "stats" mean nothing. One could easily find good ratings for crappy shows. Community season 1 was excellent. It went downhill from there. But I'm glad you enjoy it.

Im really pissed that Awake got cancelled. I watched the latest episode just now and it is AWESOME.

NBC base the fate of a show on how many people are not watching, rather than those who are.

I think you have it wrong. They don't care if braindead people watch the show as long as their are lots of them because it affects their revenue. I don't like how networks cancel shows left, right and centre but its a business ultimately for them, so viewers are whats important to them.

Not necessarily. Some show have smaller audiences but the makeup of that demographic keeps them on the air. If it's an affluent/younger group then networks renew them because advertisers like to market to people with money/that spend money.

True, its probably a combination of both but the smaller the audience, the more the network will look to drop them. They usually look at the 18-49 demographics in terms of viewers and ratings and decide from there.

My understanding with Fringe though is that it will only be a 13 episode season to completely end the storyline. To be honest much as I'm sad to watch Fringe go, at least we get to see the show through to the end.
