If you worried about your location privacy don't upgrade to Windows 8

My desktop knows where I am, and I don't even have 3G or GPS on it. It connects via wifi to my DSL router so don't ask me how it knows.

And by where I am I am not saying suburb, metro weather and maps has me down to the right street corner.
