What about the SABC cricket commies? Do yourself a favour and turn the sound off if you're ever unfortunate enough to find yourself watching cricket on SABC. Craig Marais, that Claire(?) chic and the rest of them - they make everyone in this thread seem awesome.

Celine: "I'm not saying you're stupid, I just think you have bad luck when it comes to thinking."
My belief is based on more than just 2 examples (Beast and Pommie) which you were able to explain away but I doubt you would be able to explain all of the examples I have. That's why I'm sticking to my belief. The trend is too hard to ignore and the only reason I can come up with is that whites just don't know how to pronounce black names. The reason I think whites can't pronounce the black names is becaues I've heard many many whites try to pronounce black names and failed miserably.
Having played a fair amount of sport up to provincial level, I can assure you that it has sweet fsckall to do with pronunciation and everything to do with tradition. Once you have a nickname it sticks and some of your team-mates won't even know your real name for much of the season. Besides, I've heard numerous people of all backgrounds and races struggle to pronounce other surnames from different cultures. Your reasoning is childish and ill-informed...
Is this UWS guy for real?
Any Aussie commentator is a pain due to their biasedness. I'll also admit that Bobby Skinstad can get a bit much too as I find he can be as bad as the Aussies.
Peter buckela and Neil Johnson are byfar the worst commentators
