There is a general problem with D3 latency on most ISPs, even in europe they playing with around 200-400ms, most probably due to overloaded servers.

As far as I know iBurst has a direct upstream through Telia where the servers are hosted.

So i tried my blackberry as a internet connection (gonna set me back 250 bucks) and walla, D3 installs like a dream.

If you got problems installing D3 and ure using iburst try another service provider and it will probably work.
I did exactly as you did, after having exactly the same problem you did. And it worked! Thanks for posting this mate. Helped me damn my soul! lol ... Seriously, thanks.

Yes, there is a problem that is being experienced by many iBurst users during installation, where the install process fails at 5%

I too got around this by buying R200 of air-time and setting up USB tethering to my phone. Got past the 5% (which I've struggled with for 2 evenings) and am now happy to have D3 installed and ready to play for tonight.

Was also super impressed by the speed from MTN's network - 2.4mb a second download - i.e. 300KB per second! Absolutely wrecks iburst apart (average speed of 60-90KB on a great evening). Going to have to look into more affordable data packages but either way, we've decided to dump iBurst in the next 2.5 months.

iBurst, please can you look into this and sort your network out? Thanks...

Had horrible pings when I started playing last week Tuesday. Could hardly play and kept on being dc'd. As of Friday my Ping is constantly at around 350 and at the best of times its 260. Better then some of my ADSL buds. I get the occasional lag spike but that's probably some Chinese spy plain flying between me and the base station. Overall very happy with Iburst's performance on D3.

Oh and this is with around 60% signal at the best of times

    See here.
It really depends on your coverage and how loaded the base station you connect to is.

That was the exception, not the rule... my normal latency on iBurst is 500-700ms with 2000ms spikes... good enough for WoW dailies, not raiding or D3.
however my ping on iB is still below 500 today.
I would just like to know if its a fluke or if something was upgraded.

Any one else lagging more than normal over the weekend on D3? I started playing on Saturday and all was good - 250-320 ping for most of the morning.

Then all of a sudden lag spikes kicked in and has not stopped the entire weekend. I am kind of certain it is a Iburst issue since most of my mates were doing ok while i was sitting with a 1500MS ping.

Let me know if any else picked this up.
