Default Connecting front panel usb 3.0 to motherboard

My new Haf case has a front panel with 2 usb 3.0 ports, which have cables to attach onto the motherboard. Only problem is I have no idea how to get them on there. What sort of adapter should I be looking for? I've seen usb3 to 20-pin adapters but my board has no 20-pin on it.

    Any help?

There is an adapter that plugs into the 20 pin connector from the case and ends with 2 usb ports on the other end. Those will need to be routed probably through the water cooling holes at the back of the case to the back USB3 prts on the motherboard.

    Link

Not very tidy but what can you do

Your motherboard does not have USB 3, so you cannot magically make USB 2 into USB 3

Unfortunately I have no idea on what you can do to connect the USB 3 front panel connectors as USB 2 ports on your motherboard.

I got a USB3-USB2 cable with my Asus motherboard (or my Corsair case, I'm not sure), so I could plug my front panel USB3 ports into either a USB3 port via the attached cable or use the adapter and connect it to USB2 ports.

The cable will look like this: http://www.rebeltech.co.za/index.php...oducts_id=4482

    Here's one: http://images.pugetsystems.com/pic_d...t=200&id=19690

Just look for a store that sells those cables.

Ah. You dont have USB 3. That make a difference

Have a look at these but you'll only get 2..0 speeds

Try get a USB 3.0 pcie 1 x expansion card and then connect them to that?

I can live with usb2 speeds... but where does that cable connect to on the board?

    Thanks froot.

After I read this thread, I noticed that my MSI X58A-GD65 motherboard doesn't have USB 3 headers either, even though it includes 2x USB 3.0 at the back!

I've been looking for someone who stocks a USB 3.0 pci-e card with one of those headers for a while now, but my efforts have been futile.
I have an Asus P8P67-M Pro motherboard, which has lots of PCI-e slots, but no USB 3.0 headers.
If someone sold one of those USB 3.0 PCI-e cards with headers and not one with ports that come out the back, I would definitely buy one.
