Yes because it will go for RMA, he will get a nice new one then he can test.

If he really can't wait then well
The P55 chipset does not have video out.
I highly doubt a "a R150.00 power supply from the flea market" will handle an i5 and 6870!

I bet it wouldn't even have one 6pin/8pin connector, let alone the two required for a 6870.

Sure he could check that his fans spin up or what ever... But I wouldn't pay R150 for that..

I've had an HX1000W blow up on me after 10 months.... it happens.
Luckily Frontosa swapped the thing for me no problem.

The cheap one I have do have one. I use it for testing many Mobos so far so good. it's only 450W tho and came complete in a case I chucked out. But thanks for the valuable info you supplied. Refreshing to see a post supplying valid information and not for the sake of trolling like some.

You don't think they will repair if it's blown capacitors?

No, I can definitely wait. I've actually got an old 500w lying around the house somewhere. Won't accommodate the 6870 but I could fire up the rest... In fact let me go look for it...

Nah they should, capacitors popping is definitely a manufacturers fault nothing you do or load can make the caps blow!

Doubt they will repair. Push Rebel Tech, their suppliers & Corsair are good with warranty, meaning they should be able to pass that on to you.

I think your other parts will be fine. Let's see.

Flea markets are places to buy fake Puma watches not PSU's. If you're so confident that your flea market PSU won't explode prove it, buy one and fit it into your PC and then post the pics of it in action here.

Ja, 5 year warranty on the Corsair, I don't think there'll be an issue. It barely lasted 5 days!!!

This 500w PSU I got here is useless, doesn't have the 2x4 connectors for the mobo...

Yeah, I'm pretty upset about it!! Wasn't expecting that.

The packaging, the extras it ships with, the build quality, you can tell it's a premium product and for a week my system has been running like a boss. Did a re-installation as well so everything had been running at optimum!!!
Damn I also got a v2 one but it was bought from wootware.

Anyone know the difference or why there is a V2?

Thanks! Is there a Seasonic reference on the supply at all?
