OK: SW Update Release will be "2 weeks" from yesterday. Managed to get mine done - now reads 4.0.3 and Sense 3.6 for what that is worth!

    For which device is this?

Hi all, just FYI I got my OTA upgrade from MTN on my HTC Sensation a week ago. Fixed a WHOLE BUNCH of issues including a randomly rebooting phone which was already fixed by HTC by replacing the motherboard. Months after fixing it it started rebooting again. Then I got the upgrade, hasn't rebooted since. Sense 3.6 is a big improvement and they finally got rid of that retarded launcher which only had 2, uncustomizable, buttons. One of them being the "personlise" button. Really pointless waste of space. So happy now

    Do you mean Sense 4.0?

Just this: If the phone gets bricked while rooting, your warranty will be void.

Dude, dont scare people like that!!! Its just wrong.

Thats like telling a child that's afraid of the dark that there is a possibility that someone could be hiding in your closet. Although its technically right, the chances of it happening is so slim that adding the extra fear is not helping the original one.

Yes you void your warranty the moment you root, but loads of people got their phones repaired under warranty even with it being rooted and flashed. Besides rooting has a very slim chance of bricking your phone. Its only when you stuff around with the recovery that you can brick it.

Flash and root 99999 times out of 100000 you can recover with another flash/app or reboot.

I guess I should have mentioned how unlikely it is
I was also really paranoid when doing the radio changes. After that, it's not really an issue, unless you get stuck in a boot loop and the phone has no removable memory card for you to change the update file via a pc.

Just to give you all a heads up - no ICS for the HTC DHD. Spoke to leaf a few minutes ago. HTC cancelled the upgrade.

Second of all, you'll notice that their source is actually from an XDA thread, this one. (And seeing that the linked page is the one that contains my post I guess I'm the source :P)

However, an XDA user contacted HTC on their Facebook page (link to post) and got the following answer:

That's mentioned in the thread linked above, and that thread also contains an email reply that a different user received after emailing HTC's support and the email said that the update is still happening.

My guess is that HTC were hoping to get the upgrade ready by now, they got issues so they postponed the release, and some kind of miscommunication happened between them and Telus.

Either way, we're still in the first quarter of the time range HTC gave for the upgrade. So unless HTC makes an official statement that there won't be a release, then there's no reason to despair.
