    I'm happy with the Mozart.
Figured (as fellow Mozart owner, and reading that in one of the threads below) - I'd just post this photo (below) ... finally today I missed one too many calls because of the touch-screen not responding (only from when screen is off, i.e. asleep or turned off cause it is to your ear).

As Solitude said (and as youtube has shown me) - there are lots of people out there with this issue on this particular phone (not OS) ..

As much as I love the slickness of the interface and have dabbled in some development for WP - it just got to a point where I was actually missing important calls and having to phone people back rather sheepishly once I got the phone to respond, also it is a mission to try handle voice mail when you can never hit 7 to delete anything

I am not trolling WP7.5 - but perhaps I'll see what WP8 brings, hopefully ...
    - a bluetooth stack that is useable with a car kit! (doubtful)
    - improved multi-tasking, not 30 minute polls on background threads,
    - a phone I can run Skype on (and receive messages, calls while it is in the background)
    - a phone that doesn't lock me into "South Africa Mode" because of my LiveID location (try traveling with this to USA - it is just frustrating)
    - mass storage mode ; cause frankly a phone is like a usb stick in your pocket - I want to use it as such without running http servers on a machine

and to a lesser extent perhaps a phone that is supported by a company that doesn't think the US is the centre of the world (Local Scout is just awesome in the US - pity it isn't supported in this country)

    - sorry WP and HTC - I loved you while you lasted

So what phone will you be getting now?

The touch-screen thing really is only with that phone. I have a bunch of others and it's never happened to them. Of the 5 people I know with a Mozart, one of them had a glitch touchscreen.

-I've used my phone with a BT car kit many times?
-WP8 will have deep Skype integration supposedly
-When has this country thing effected you?
-Theres a simple reg hack that works (well, it used to, but should still).

So how did your phone break?

    Soo many questions

Firstly - kudos to you on the WP dev stuff - even the Microsoft guy down here was mentioning you (well a durban guy doing great WP dev stuff - I assume it's you)

    As for the questions:
    - Next phone - no clue (might try out android or throw an android rom on my old Touch Pro 2 - I think I saw there was one available)
    - BT car kit - I have an Audi and it has integrated bt (factory stuff) - android phones work fine, my winmo 6.5 phone didn't and my Mozart just connects, disconnects (repeats about 3 or 5 times) - swears it is connected but the sound is still routed through the handset and there is no option to say send-call-to-headset (or something similar) I suspect WP is missing whichever profile the car is using and it is unlikely car will get updated.

    - Country thing : well I was in the US for a month or so, set my phone up to be US locale (t-mobile etc) , but of course you can't then connect it to your PCwith Zune cause of a country mismatch between the live account ID and phone locale's oh and the pc locale too. Admittedly this is more a gripe with Live ID's and locality restrictions. I could mention stuff like marketplace reviews for an app are restricted by locality too it seems. So if a UK person reviews app - and I am a ZA person .. I won't see that review (just a hunch I have) I am going to be going to the US a lot in future, so being able to get US apps from the US store (they have great transit apps and stuff which might not be in the ZA store) would be cool.

The local scout thing admittedly is the same in iPhone land with Siri not working 100% here or even in the UK. I guess without enough local data, it is pointless turning on those features of the phone that use it.

As for WP 8 - well lots of rumors - will see when it comes out I like shiny new things as much as the next guy - especially when it is software based (I'm a developer - so yeah) Hopefully WP8 has some less restrictive sand-boxing - cause there are a couple of things I'd love to have written that one just can't do (ability to turn wifi off/on for instance would be cool - so an app tied up to GPS, so if you leave your home you can turn off wifi - Symbian has had something like that for a while ... loose wifi connection turn off all data etc, Perhaps even data-settings per app, like sky-drive synching of photos would be nice to only do via wi-fi or when it is available)

Oh .. and oddly, for a friend of mine in the US, the deal-breaker to not get a WP phone, was no recurring reminders for sms's - weird, but he works for amazon and if they text him for work it is pretty important he get it and read - so a single little "beep" doesn't cut it there. If I could write THAT app - he'd buy the phone lol !

Oki - let me stop before this morphs from a reply into a moan and then into a rant ..

Lastly . how did the phone break .. well I missed answering my 3rd call for the morning .. and after pressing and fondling the screen in frustration, the phone finally dropped out of my hand .. (repeatedly and at higher velocities) - not my brightest or most zen moment

Thanks! Yeah, probably me, as I'm the only one down here :P Who was it, if you remember his name?
Yes reviews are based per country, which is why using something like AppFlow is nice because you can see the US ratings for apps (ours have very few reviews).

Yeah, they are working on getting Bing services here - but no specified date.

You need one of these: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jf1fRu9YgfE :P

That is compared to something like the 710 where the flicking and scrolling just makes the phone feel "snapper" - even though the 900 far out spec's it. Though LTE is - yummy!
