Thread: WA Titan ADSL accounts discontinued?

Default WA Titan ADSL accounts discontinued?

    Hi

I received my bill for my ADSL account for June this morning, and saw that my line speed had been dropped to 384k, though my bandwidth allocation is up to 25Gb now.

Have the Titan accounts been discontinued, or did I bungle an attempt at communication that resulted in the change.

/My line speed has been all over the place recently, so this could be why. Rather have a slow, but stable connection than a fast, but erratic one.

    Jeff?

/PS: Not complaining, just trying to find out what happened.

If you have a capped account WA does not touch your line speed as far as I am aware.

I also received an email a few days ago saying that my Titan 15Gb account has been upgraded to Home 25GB at the same monthly rate. I assumed that the Titan accounts have been discontinued then, I know they haven't been available for new sign ups for ages now.

Yeah I had the same 15GB Titan, moved to a 25 GB HomeADSL package for the same monthly fee of R199. Which is quite good considering there isn't a 25GB/R199 option available directly from WA I'm happy, stopped me from going to Afrihost for 35GB/R299

I believe all capped WA account are limited to 10mbps - but they are heavily shaped (especially during the day) perhaps thats your problem.

Really?? My experience is that the capped accounts are not shaped at all, it's the uncapped ones that are shaped.

The [home] capped accounts are on the same shaping priority as the [home] uncapped accounts.

Atlest the guys with the smaller Titan packages are stil getting more out of it. I was on the 50 GB titan one and have now been moved to the 50GB Home one. No bandwidth increase and no pricedrop. Afrihost is looking better already. Just hope they don't have as much latency issues as WA

Some very interesting reading in here...

Need to go shop around a little I think, home capped accounts getting shaped the same as the uncapped account ? That's no good.

    Hi all,

The Titan accounts where migrated Home ADSL with our older package migrations. Nothing has changed though, from my understanding some customers benefited from additional GB's but we definitely haven't downgraded anyones line speed.

Would you mind dropping me a PM with your account details and I'll double check things for you on Monday.
