Thread: Internet sharing on Mac OS X (Lion) using Vodafone 3G (2+2)

Default Internet sharing on Mac OS X (Lion) using Vodafone 3G (2+2)

    Hi,

Six months ago, using OS X (10.6) and my Vodacom 2GB + 2GB connection on a ZTE k4505-z modem 3G dongle, I was able to share my internet connection from the Ethernet adaptor using Airport to other devices.

Now, with 10.7 (Lion) and the same setup, though different computer, I can't share the connection. My iPhone can join the network but has no through connection to the Internet.

The only thing I can think of is that Vodafone has started blocking this type on broadcasting since last I used it - which I really hope is not the case.

Has anyone else experienced this and is solution?

An update on this - moving to 8ta has has resolved the issue by making it irrelevant. Airport wireless works again and other wireless devices can share my Ineternet connection.

Now, if only 8ta were faster ... but at least I've saved some money by not buying a Huawei E367 modem (the 8ta store was out of stock anyway). By installing ZTE drivers and using 'Join Air' I can still use my old Vodafone ZTE K4505 modem.
