Somebody, anybody?
Hi MOwrt,
If you have been getting an error message that the battery is reaching end of life, then you will have to purchase a new replacement battery for your computer. These batteries only have a 1 year warranty on them.
You can visit the following link to order a Dell battery.

You can also call Dell on 1-800-624-9896 to order one.
I would only recommend a Docking station if you really plan to utilise all the ports on the same.
The following is a recommended purchase for Studio 1555 only if you feel that it is a must.

Glad to assist you.

You know what is really strange... The exact same thing happened to me, only difference is that I have an inspiron, not a studio.
The battery was perfect, lasting well and everything. Out of nowhere I got the same notification, a week later the battery was completely dead. Wouldn't charge anymore and PC would not even blink any lights when hitting the power button.
The weirdest thing though is that the battery was really fine one day (held charge for at least 45mins), the next day I got the notification (it now wasn't lasting more than 10-15mins), a week later...dead.
Of course, with my luck, the battery was 13 months old. 1 month out of the warranty period....
You can try these guys http://www.batteryexperts.co.za/
I cant vouch for them because i have never bought from them .
If it walks like a duck and kwaks like a duck ..its a duck
Well that is a link I am going to bookmark... I actually have no intention of getting a new battery for my laptop, but I see they have a pretty huge range of batteries for the older laptops (you would be amazed with the number of people still coming in with Latitude D600's etc.). Sourcing the damn batteries is usually hell!
I have a similar problem - same laptop. A few months ago I started getting this message that the battery was not charging. When I started the laptop up it would say it cannot determine the chargers wattage or something so the battery will not be charged. I meant to contact dell but since my laptop ended up being plugged in most of the time I never got around to it. Then, a couple of weeks ago I started getting this red light flashing on the front of the laptop and a message popping up twice every 5 minutes saying my battery is dead and must be replaced. The only way I could get rid of this message and flashing light was to remove the battery all together. My laptop is also about 13 months old. I will contact dell on Monday I guess, as I suspect a hardware problem - either the charger or motherboard prevented the battery from charging.
