Some places are over subscribed, your expererience just proves it.

Also its not Blackberry. You still use your internet to transfer data through BIS. It's Vodacom's pipe to Blackberry that is congested.

Really? Then why is it vodacom are the only ones giving absolute *** bis? What do MTN have a bigger pipe? More pipes? And don't tell me its because voda have more subscribers.
This abuse crap vodacom are spewing must surely also be happening on other networks and more so now as they throttle everyone.
IMO its vodacom and their crap network

I never said Vodacom were not throttling people either and their network is crap.

There's deffinitely something going on with the BIS service. Using direct TCP/IP gets me lovely speeds but BIS is just a fail.

I have become so used to a bad VC signal where I stay. I usually have to go outside to make a decent call without being dropped. In these last few very cold days, this is just no fun! After 10 years, I suppose I have become accustomed to it. Luckily we still have the old faithfull Telkom landline! I actually would have presumed that a place like Sasolburg with all it's industries would have had a better VC presence. I would not even contemplating getting a VC data bundle! It would be a complete waste of money. My wife is on MTN, and she usually has a full 3G signal.

This Vodacom 3G is the worst internet in human history, its disgusting and embarrassing! on the 3G modem anything other than light blue (HSUPA) cannot be used at all, the internet explorer just gives up immediately and God forbid its green (but you can stop it from going to GPRS). the modem over heats and sometimes just disconnects randomly, I have to keep cmd open all the time to flush the dns which only helps 10% of the time. for gaming its quite pathetic, using league of legends at the best hours I get an average of 230ping (EU West server), but between 5pm and 11pm its horrific, 400ping average which is unplayable plus huge spikes of 20 000 ping which is disconnect and possible bans from the game. the shocking thing is that restarting and reconnecting sometimes fixes this and its back to 230 ping for a while even in the worst hours around 7-9pm, why? why can i trick my way into getting that speed but not get it all the time?

Anyway saying speed is wrong, its capable of 7.2 Mbps but im lucky to even get 1% of that, the fastest I have ever seen it is at 1Mbps for less than a second. Its bad, really bad. The excuse that more people are using their phones to go on the internet is garbage, I tell my 3G modem to ignore GPRS completely and only use 3G, most phones are using EDGE so really Vodacom we're not daft. Genetic I have no idea what modem you have but I want it! Though word is that around Monte its fast
