Question Connecting Capped ADSL branches to HO on Business ADSL.

    Hi Everyone,

Quick one ... I have tried and researched on how to connect my branches to my HO. It seems like the I can only do 5 concurrent conncetions at a time at HO on my business ADSL. I am going to do the following all in house:

I am going to put capped business ADSL (192) in at my branches.
I am going to put 2 business ADSL (1024 uncapped (from a ISP)) lines in at HO.
I want all my branches to connect to the one business ADSL line (static IP), but they all must be connected at the same time so that I have live data this side.
I am setting up a Fedora Core Firewall and NAT server.

Now ... I need to find out how to connect my branches to my HO, all at the same time and what to do or what software to use. I prefer MS above linux, and I would like to use the build in features in MS without buying new software for this.

I am running 5 MS Server 2000 servers, none of them are the DC, they are just SQL servers. I am running 1 SBS 2003 server which is the DC with Active Dir and Exchange. Another server with Server 2003 Standers is going in next week.

Any ideas or suggestions? I will really appreciate it!

If I remember correctly 192 and 384 are homedsl products and can only be installed at a residential premises. You would have to go 512 to use DSL into a commercial location.
I stand to be corrected on this.

Sorry, my bad. You are right, it has to be the 512.

    I'm confused.

There is no special software you need to connect "at the same time" - its all a network so they can access the static ip box when they want to, no problems.

Are you maybe asking how to setup a VPN or maybe how to setup a bandwidth-load-balancing box so that all the lines get a specific amount of bandwidth?

Yes! Thats it. My only concern is the the conncurent connections. I cant remeber where I saw it, but it said that it will only allow 5 conncurent connections. I can probably use the RAS on MS, but that will make my security weaker.

I think it's per account, so if you have separate branch accounts it won't affect you.
You only get one chance to piss off a client. After that they are an ex client ...

Ok great. Thats out the way now. Thank you vedry much! Now how about the software side? Will the RAS in windows do the job or do I have to go linux? Fedora or Redhat? I really dont like linux and do not want to go there, but if I HAVE to I recon I do not have another way of doing this. I can do the NATing on the SBS 2003 server, no problem, but the RAS or VPN side?
