I was in my car today listening to the news, Eskom have told us again that we must save as they are pushing up the prices again to pay for 2 power plants that they are planning to build as they have borrowed money.
If memory serves me correctly, did Eskom not make something like R 16 BILLION last year? If so, why do they need to push up the prices when clearly they are making a lot of money?
Also, have Eskom not being saying for the last 5 years that they are planning to build more power stations yet not much has really happend yet we continue to have price hikes and Eskom continue to have record profits year on year?
If memory does in fact serve me correctly, then Eskom should be using some of their Billions to pay off the new power plants and not expect us South Africans to just cough up more everytime which effects the economy in many negative ways!
Just my 2c
