Thread: 2GB+2 Vodacom scam !

  1. #1

    Default 2GB+2 Vodacom scam !

People, I want to make you aware of one issue or scam if you want. Vodacom DOES NOT carry over the NightOwl data into the next month! Further and more disturbing, the usuall (anytime) data remainder, will be carried over until the end of next month BUT and here is the catch, you won't be able to use this 'carry over' until you have finished the initial allocation for the month ! ! ! In other words the data can only be carried over every other month ! I think this is a very sly move my VC and wonder if I can not cancell my 2 year contract because of this. And yes, I have read the small print and it does not explain this misleading fact! WTF VC
In South Africa corruption rules! Therefore, never believe anything the government says - until it is officially denied!

Not new news I'm afraid, also, just for fun, the vodacom rep either gets snarky or ignores peoples complaints completely.

Just for interest, what % of vodacom's Data profits comes from OOB I wonder?

    I've heard not very much.

Although I think that would depend on whether the definition of OOB includes people on pre-paid who've never had bundles, or only those that have had bundles and depleted them.

Any thread that starts getting sticky (showing up the many "scams") gets ignored.

Don't really blame the reps I guess. They are to scared to give their own view or say anything that may remotely get them in trouble cause they know it will probably get them fired or demoted.

Such fun working for or trying to get answers from big corporations.

I gladly give Vodacom R100 of my money every month for my 1gb data bundle.

I have it as a backup in case of the worst, and it's saved me when I've needed it.

You can take data contracts on a prepaid basis ( No OOB shark to bite your head off ) - And any data contract I take will always be like that. I think it's a little unethical to not make customers aware of this from the get-go, or at least make it the default option.

Oh well. If you know what you are signing when you put your name down, a lot of headaches don't even surface

This isn't news - it clearly states the usage terms in their T&C's

I'd thoroughlyread the T&C's before signing any contract.
I believe posters are recognised by their sig... so I made one.

Sir am glad that you have now learnt the a valueable lesson with your wallet by not following the "Old Principal" or "Caveat Emptor" - Let the buyer beware by NOT READING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS first before signing on the doted line at all times Sir. These T & C's were PATENTLY CLEAR AND UNDERSTANDABLE and UNAMBIGUOUSLY STATED to all.
It is a known fact that when dealing with any Cellphone Company that the customer MUST READ/STUDY ALL T & C PROPERLY before signing.
So Sir you are to blame for your own mistakes, not the network - full stop
