Is it just me or does these look absolutely brilliant?
It is nice that they separate the phones and service...
But if you actually calculate the deals that you get on contracts with a phone, it works out to pretty much the same.
Nice part is that you can choose the exact phone you want, and you can keep a phone as long as you want, and change the service (call plan) at Cell C on a month to month basis.
Yummy! Who doesn't have extra phones around these days. Seriously worth the look for my business...
So what would a R200 package with an S3 over 12 months cost?
I Love Me
I see my Control Chat balance enquiry (*101#) has already changed. It used to say "Control Chat balance..." and something like free sms's remaining but now just says "Available Balance: R130.31. SMS/MMS: 11.
Previously MMS's weren't inclusive in Control Chat but now it already is![]()
According to our store here, the deals will be available form the 22nd June. They don't know what phones will be available and at what pay-in. I'm holding out with my upgrade until then.
I like how they've simplified things, and included data with every contract. But the problem with these contracts is that they're not good for people who use lots of data but don't make a lot of phone calls.
I use at least 500mb per month (although I'd be happier with a full gig), but I never make more than 120 minutes of calls. I would need at least R400 a month to get 400mb, which means I'd effectively be wasting a lot of money on 400 minutes that I'll never use AND I still won't have enough data to get through the month.
For me, something like RBM200, which offers 200 minutes and 500mb of data for only R250 per month is a much better deal.
500mb data cellc should cost you about R150 http://www.cellc.co.za/smartdata-bundles
Does the RBM200 deduct a full minute for a 1 second call?
Cannot wait to see how these packages will look like.
Can't believe there's no info on the Cell C website, or did I miss it?
No info yet and the launch is tomorrow?
Meanwhile, I've noticed on my Control Chat sim that my inclusive sms's have not been decremented after sending 2 sms already. Maybe still early to jump to conclusions but perhaps something to do with conversion to Straightup tomorrow?
