Thread: Apple sues Samsung over Galaxy S III

Ahh .... I remember the days when phone companies competed on features and pricing to win customers!

Nokia would release something ... Ericsson would better it .... Samsung would cut price ... Nokia would update their product. Those were the good old days!
    Jägermeiʃter can fix that!

Apple should pride themselves about this and move on. We all know Apple loves the premium feel of they're products, they should market that instead of complaining left and right.

The S3 is miles apart in looks and functionality than the iPhone. I really think they've got a strong case on this one.

Came out with Siri now Samsung has a Siri like clone Galaxy Tab was cloned from the iPad! Had Apple not released an iPad I doubt we would be having the Galaxy tab.
My Wife's (pre android) LG touch screen had only 1 button and looks pretty close to the Iphone (except the color).

It's still happening, except Apple is in the mix now. Right after the 3rd step, Apple releases the same thing, claim they invented it and sues Nokia, Ericsson, Samsung and everybody in the world like they're the RIAA or something. That's why I liked them better when they were some obscure company only producing over-priced, under-powered laptops and over-priced, under-powered desktop PC's with all the components in the screen. Even when they started producing digital music players at several times the cost of the competition I still didn't mind, but they really became a bunch of dicks when they tried to make a smartphone, just in time to cash in when the market demand started growing very fast. Nothing wrong with that in itself but why they have to pretend like they invented anything is a bit puzzling.

BTW, great pic, D3x. I'm always pointing that out and people are just like "what are you talking about". Those were real tablet computers, not giant phones like now.
So y'all need to hide yo uzis, hide yo assault rifles and hide yo bazookas 'cos they disarmin' everybody out here!

He is an idiot who got the Oracle vs Google dispute completely wrong.
It later turned out that he was a shill paid by Oracle (and M$)
NOT using Telkom POTS or ADSL since 5 Sept 2011
FYI: Telkom ADSL "legal" contention ratio is 20:1

This is like Apple picking a fight then calling in its big brother 'cos it's begin hammered. Yeah it may survive the beating with help, but will forvever be known as the coward who couldn't win on its own.

While I disagree with this lawsuit (Until I have a chance to see the court fillings), Apple are dominating the smartphone business. The are taking a massive majority of the profits of the industry. That can't be called "hammered"

lmao.. i guess the new iPhone won't have much to offer if they trying to block a competitor outright.
When have you demonstrated leadership skills?

Paid yes. Shill? Where is this evidence to support that bold claim?

If the iphone 5 comes out soon and can compete, I will consider it but the 4S came out later than the S2 and didn't impress me that much. But then again the S3 didn't really blow everything out of the water like the S2 did either.
Speaktoit's Assistant on Android market has also been available pre-Siri afaik. When my wife got her iPhone 4S, it not only answered more questions, but it also answered more questions/requests far more accurately than Siri. And this is without me trying to put on an American accent.
I understand Siri did get better with recent updates, but I haven't tried it recently. Either way, there were Android options available before Siri. I'm not sure what game Siri was supposed to change either.

    Yes.

Apple claimed that the new phone, which is yet to go on sale in the US, could cause it “irreparable harm,”
I doubt that harm would be from patent infringement, but rather from the S3 being a product that people would rather buy than an iPhone for other reasons. As far as I know, the S3 isn't actually cheaper (if it is, not by much) than an iPhone. So all other things being equal, that implies customers perceive the S3 as an overall better phone, rather than simply a copy.

Speaktoit came out after Siri and it's available on the App Store too Not a bad looking little cartoon character, I wonder if you can ask her to take her top off

I just want to point out that I'm not a fandroid. I simply think Apple, and pretty much everyone else in the smart phone business really, suing each other over things that are generally expected by users as natural interaction in most cases, is childish.
