Your Diablo Gold/Gear farming tips.

As Diablo Inferno mode is all about gearing up to beat the next level (act), I thought it may be nice to share some of the gold grinding ideas and find out what others are doing.

So far my most productive but also most boring is the royal crypts Act 1 Inferno. Running around breaking pots and killing some zombies. Have made around 200k in 30mins of doing this last night, with my monk. A wizzard should be clearing it a bit faster. Plenty of youtube videos on this out there.

As for magic find, the elusive elite in the basement of the first house (at the first waypoint) have dropped me two legendaries in 30 mins farming last night. (Crappy legendaries though) Considering how easy it is to kill and how fast it is done, I guess this will be fixed at some point...

Killing mobs and looting every chest/tree/body is also yielding a lot of gold, though I have no idea how optimal this is?

One of the runs that seems to yield good loot is the Warden/Butcher run. Basically go through the Cathederal until you have 5 stacks of NV, the kill the Warden and head off to the Butcher. The nice thing is that those 2 aren't far apart.

I recall reading that Blizz are trying to stop these runs though.... Something about changing the number of guarantee'd rares certain bosses drop...

Instead of two guaranteed drops on act bosses, you get one. Although the second one still has a high chance. However, with 5 stacks NV, rare/champion mobs are guaranteed to drop at least one rare

Whats your stats/skills? I had quite a few rough patches. Some sorted out with gear, some sorted out by really making sure I get the most out of all of my skills

Have been in the same position but using more defensive abilities and gearing up, helps a lot. In the end I was pulling through 3 others with me through hell, and it was not to bad to solo most elite packs with them corpse running.

Not alot of time ie. short runs - Warden then Butcher as Phreeme explained.

Alot of time, start at the Cemetary and go look for the crown, but make sure you do all the crypts, and do the whole of Act 1 again from there. This is more for gold farming and i'm not sure if this is actually more profitable than doing Butcher runs, but at least you get a change of scenery, and if you keep your 5 stacks going you'll be surprised at how many yellows you get to sell and where you get them from

I'm also doing those 2 runs with my Wizard and about 150% gold find gear. So much faster and better than with my Barb

Warden/Butcher runs kinda sux imo. You can't really get gear from there that will help much in Act 2 (well, I could not for my barb) and the gold/min ain't all that great either. The boring farming spots yields better results.
Thou I've done so many speed runs there (+- 20 mins? I just run, ignore mobs and pull 1 or 2 elite packs and kill them) and still tank it for new level 60 friends all the time.
I have picked up 2 set items thou, not that great but sold them for about 400k each.

He only got 4 rares out of the run, but also mentioned it's the worst he has had to date. I'm not disputing it being the best/worst place, just that some runs may yield better results for certain people and not others.

I know of 4 diff ways to make ur money and all of the different

1: Inferno fallen star quest run up the hill-into old ruins- get checkpoint run back a bit and enter Dank cellar, leave/resume game over and over

-Could drop some nice rares with enough magic find and with the drop chance buff coming it could turn out to be a good option.
-Use to get around 6k per 1min run

2: Urn farming Royal crypts or Act4

-With enough gold find this could be a very nice place to farm, esp if you are a ranged class
-did this a while ago with just under 100gold find and only got 11k, will do this again today with my 250% and update

3: As mentioned, butcher/warden runs

-Never really did this as im a barb and cant find good high Magic or gold find gear that can tank/dps without paying millions

4: AFK-farming, you want to make some gold at work? Cool, find a 2 guardian pillars in Realm of Shadows act2, get a macro to spam your AoE spells then afk, check back every hour or so to repair armour.

-Made around 1.6m on wednesday cant remem how long I did it for tho
-lots of random white items/gems/blues and some rares, you just have to dig

Gems drop while doing any1 of these.
Goblin/chest farming is also a good way to farm

I'll just start by saying ^5 for being a Force sub. I've been following him from about his start

Its not the amount of rare's that is the problem, its the quality. You have to take into consideration that Act I and the Butcher will only drop iL61 gear and the problem being that for most classes (including me) that just is not good enough to do even Act II. On a perfect roll, ye then it might be ok maybe.
Act II drops iL62 and is still not really what people want. Act III & IV drops iL63 and that's where things gets important and why you currently get so little on AH for items from the Butcher run.
And that is why the AH atm is the dominating factor in the game.

With patch 1.0.3 things will change and actually work allot more like D2. You will have a 2% chance to get that iL63 in Act I. That is a factor that will keep people farming... because they know there is that chance. But not atm. (except if they don't know the above)
I just hope the drop rates of the really good items/rolls is few and far between
