Thread: Manyi to get the chop

Thumbs up Manyi to get the chop

    Manyi to get the chop
The Mail & Guardian has reliably learned that the controversial government spokesperson received a letter from Performance, Monitoring and Evaluation Minister Collins Chabane last week, which stated that his contract will not be renewed when it comes to an end in August.
“He has received a letter [from Chabane] and his deputies know about it. Effectively, he has been sacked from the government, in particular for repeatedly making embarrassing remarks,” a government official familiar with the circumstances told the M&G this week.

Maybe the government has finally realised the PR nightmare that its spokespeople and the ANCYL (via ruling party affiliation) is causing. Maybe we'll get someone who thinks before he/she talks this time...

The chop gets the chop. Although in SA politics, that simply means being redeployed.

For interest's sake -- if you were the ANC/government and you simply HAD to redeploy Manyi, where would you send him? Is there any position that he might actually excel in? If not, where would he do the least damage to the country?

Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs maybe?

Yeah - some guy pointed out that the labour laws in SA are meant to protect the general worker, the guy who has limited power if any. But it seems that the people who use it (abuse it) are the big knobs.

I'll admit, I'm not really sure what the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs does. I just went with one that didn't sound like it adds a lot of value... my bad.

It won't end here with this chop as with the ANC nothing is ever finalised properly.

    He he !

Municipalities (the hands and feet of government) fall under this portfolio ........ their bad performance is the breeding ground for all the recent service delivery protests.

Sport and Recreation ? In my view that is the most pointless portfolio of them all....
