Default CellC Prepaid- Can't change the tariff plan

    HI,

I have tried since Sunday to change to the 99c FOR REAL prepaid package without any luck. When I dial the Easy Chat 141 number and press 3, all I get is silence. WT*?!

There's a few people with the same issue. Cell C seems to be ignoring this problem, including on their Facebook page...

    Yes, I'm one of them.

We also need clarification on whether data sims (i.e. a 5GB x 12 sim) that has used up all the data but which is still active can be converted to 99c for real. For that simcard I get "your selection was invalid".

I know someone who just bought a Cell C 3GB 365days Data SIM for R399 last week to use in their smartphone. They tried to buy a normal SIM and a 3GB R399 data voucher but were told they could not as it is "not done like that anymore". Not sure how true that is??

When I checked the 141 options for them, the "99c for real" was not available on this SIM.

They went to a Cell C store and were told that "99c for real" is not available for that type of data SIM.

Needless to say they were very disappointed

Then I wonder what would happen if you do it the other way around. I.e. first buy a 99c for real sim, or convert an existing number, and then try to load the 3GB voucher?

Sounds like they were told (misled?) they could NOT load the 3GB data voucher on a normal voice sim, but only a data sim.

Doubt that is true? Unless something has changed?

Just ask in Cell C store. It is called 3GB Smartdata Voucher R399. Not in stores selling airtime. This is not ordinary airtime voucher.

Just confirm on my 2GBx12 expired data promo SIM. Calling 141, selecting 3 for changing data plan, it says goodbye.

    Not working for me either.

Dialling 141 I get Trevor saying:
    Welcome to Cell-C's pre-paid menu
    You have the following options:

    For balance enquiry, press 0
    To recharge, press 1
To change your tariff plan, press 3
To choose your default language, press 4
With my one SIM, pressing 3 just results in silence, with the other, pressing 3 results in:
Your selection was not successful. Goodbye.
    Both are ex-5GBx12 SIMs.

I just ported from Vodacom to Cell C and I have been put on the 99c package, but not the "99c for real" package. So I dial 141 (to change the tariff plan) and Trevor Noah says "The number you've dialed does not exist"... What the??

The Cell C peeps of FB mentioned that there is a problem with the 141 dialing.... Grrrr!!!!

Generally it is not a problem, just get another SIM, in my case there is. I usually run out window period, still having airtime. So I need to recharge even though I don't need airtime. On this data SIM window period is set high, I thought it could use it.

I guess this isnt for customers on control chat contracts...just listened to my menu options and there wasnt even an option to change tariff plans.

I tried converting my sim to the 99c deal and keep getting the error: 'This selection is not valid, goodbye' after pressing 3 on the voice menu system... It's just told me to press 3 to change my tariff plan, then it says goodbye and hangs up
