Thread: BWE2 - download EARLY

    Default BWE2 - download EARLY

I know we were told to update the client early by Anet. Though, I didn't think it was going to be so big. Numerous files have been changed so the total game is now about 15GB. Though the actual download update was around 5GB I think.
    So, start early!

    Is this for the beta?

Hurry up with the damn release date already

Yes, that was for the second beta weekend.

    Good timing on that one

There was another update a day or two ago, around 400-450MB. Total size is 15.3GB for me.

I bought the pre-order 2 weeks ago but have yet been able to play during a beta weekend. 15.3gb on a 384 line is just too painful.

Well it is just going to get worse. With a large portion of content not revealed, I am guessing 20gb will be closer to release date. I see some sites are saying 25gb in their minimum requirements. If I recall closed beta stipulated around 18 to 23gb. Not that it effects me much, but I hope Telkom sort those 384 to 1mbit upgrades real soon

Only the pre-purchase (bought on 10 April, or ANet's digital copies) are eligible for the BWE's.

The closed beta one was a lot smaller - I got my friend's closed-beta copy (that I played on for the BWE's) and it was 10GB.

But yeah, the game will be big and will be painful for 384's. 1Mb too but it's not that bad.

Yes it was, though the email that closed beta users received indicated how much space maybe needed. I am guessing Anet covered themselves for any possible outcome if they needed to provide a larger sized game. This gives us an idea they already knew the possible final size of the game.
