lol, I have no problem with people sticking devices on our domain. they must just keep in mind that they are giving me a whole new level of control on their devices.![]()
I don't really get the connection between the opening paragraphs and the main point of the article. Must be Friday afternoon...
Finally, it is vital that IT decision makers implement security policy which profiles employees and awards them the use of their own devices according to the sensitivity of the material that they access.
If an employee regularly interfaces with business process and financial information that is essential to the continued success of the organisation then it is acceptable to require them to meet certain criteria, such as remote access and an encrypted application environment before granting admission.
When coupled with a security policy that integrates security features such as location-based positioning and remote wipe, the concept of ‘Bring Your Own Device’ becomes far less foreign and more centrally controlled. With these factors in place, IT executives can rest assured that the organisation’s risk profile has been minimised.

You are right Sodan, there is no SF here, only currently valid logic about device security lol

Celebrate, because an exciting new era is born, the electronic revolution, broadband internet everywhere, you have the power from the comfort of your home, to occupy, manupilate and control virtual space.
Virtual Space is a great new frontier, it is changing us, all of us, the very way humanity thinks, live, and work, just imagine what lies ahead !
The Internet and pc's are tools that extend our abilities.
The future promises a cybernet which will cover the span of our solar system, where human societies are digitally connected.
Whether you're doing science on Mars or building a starship on the dark side of the moon, or maybe you're far out, near one of the giants, maybe you're mining around Saturn, or stuck in Joburg because you can't afford a ticket on a starship, whatever your future situation might be, you'll always be connected to the net.
From the pyramid to the microchip.
We are creating for ourselves a universe within this universe, of seemingly unlimited space and possibility.
This space which we create and control, live and work in. Cyberspace.
The time has come for society to discard the old ways and think about what we can do with all this knowledge and processing power.

(but always leave the gamers alone, because it is they (like F1 drivers) who push our hardware (and software) to the limits ! .. forcing us to keep improving, to keep upgrading, thereby developing new and better and faster and smaller and lighter technolgies) (not to mention the millions of absolutely downright stupid users who along with toasters and hairdryers want tablets and devices that can hover, are waterproof and have built-in AI's that resemble Ask Jeeves, and are automatically connected planetwide.)
Besides, a peek into the near further-future suggest that our electronic devices will eventually be left behind for a more pragmatic approach, which will be that we won't have devices anymore.
Why carry an extra device, if you are the device, and everywhere you go, your tech goes with you.
At first this implant tech will be used medically and cosmetically, a soft introduction to the wave of cyborgian technology that is in development.
This text exists even though you can't really see it, now apply this truth to your existence in the universe.
