Heyyy Bee! Could you show us the South African model on the international site?

Lets not get side tracked now, the focus of this thread is the Hisense 55T36. I will keep posting pics after every service/replacement and keep hoping that they get it right.

It does seem that Hisense has acquired a good name, perhaps im just seriously unlucky.

Got hold of a guy named Trevor from Hisense in Durban, first he said he would be able to see me on MONDAY!!!... I freaked out and gave the "lot of money" speech, then he said he would call me in an hour. So now we wait for 14:00

He called back at 15:00, he wants a copy of the receipt and is sending a tech out on Thursday or Friday.... I will update again after the tech comes.

I read about that as well, also about loosing screws in the back.... I think ill rather just keep returning it until they either get it right or something better comes round. R13k opens you up to quite a few options.

Tech should be here any minute....

On the plus side, watched Avatar in 3D last night, very very cool, but you need a big lounge, sitting in front of the tv about 6m away , there are a few anomalies, ie, shiney bits that dont look quite right, when standing outside, +/- 12m away (smokers must smoke) the pic is phenomenal, pop outs where great and the depth was awesome and clear. Couches will be moving back

That doesn't sound right.

I can sit 1.6m away from my 46" (cinema style field of view) and the picture off 1080i DSTV HD and 1080p Bluray looks accurate and imperfection free.
