If you get one, let us know.
Hi I went to Dion wired yesterday had a look at the Xt710 and i was not impressed the images didnt seem rich with colour and the screen seemed DUll when a movie was playing could they have it setup incorrectly ?

Yes of course, as with any TV in a showroom/store.

Unless you can precisely know the quality/grade of the input signal/content, and state/correctness of settings, you have absolutely no idea whether what you're seeing has any relation to the peak performance of the set.

What has happened re the backlight bleed? The Hisense guys are collecting mine today, to see if they can sort out the problem at their office. Promised to have it back Thursday. Also offered a credit, and am considering the xt710 upgrade. But only if it's substantially better, and I'm dubious as its also the same tech.

Re 3d post above, I'd imagine it's to do with the source material and path, more than the tv itself. If they are both passive, the only issue that can surely affect the 3d experience is crosstalk???

Well, apparently they couldn't do anything to improve the set. So now it's up to hificorp to supply some swopouts...

Yup, no.3 will be here tomorrow morning, I think i might skip the dark room black pic test this time and just tell myself lightbleed is a myth.

My Harmony 890 decided to start working again today, w00t, its been dead for about 7 months, I was going to strip it down again and test all the caps, but no need, plugged it in and BOOM on it came, i soo heppi.

Pity the 55T36 is not in the harmony DB, was really hoping to create a dedicated 3D button. Will play with it and let you know how it turns out, been a real pain juggling 3 remotes...

TV 3 Came today, I was not available to take delivery on Friday. I must commend HifiCorp for customer service, not once have they made me feel like Im putting them out, they seem to be genuinely concerned about making me happy.

    Any better?

PS: Try pressing on the LCD at the edges of the frame, and you can see how disturbing the flatness makes the problem worse...

    Hi Sub

No3 seems to be the best of the bunch..you agree? I spent an hour at HiFiCorp earlier, and we unboxed 2 of the 3 they have in store, and looked at them in a darkish storeroom. Both were bad, but I couldn't make a call as to whether they were worse or better... I have the code for putting the set into service mode, if you're interested. In fact , I'll send you a pm...

I do agree, maybe no.4 will be spot on. I have emailed hificorp and hisense, mentioning that if they google hisense 55T36, the first link they get will bring them here, hopefully that gets them wanting to resolve this issue. I also mentioned the receipt issue, I said that I want it reflecting the 55T36 as R12999 and the 32" as free, as advertised. will let you know what the say.

have you tried the hosepipe trick? I hear it works wonders, its the one where you spray it on full for a about 20 seconds... or was that for plants in your garden? I can never remember the difference.

When I've saved enough for either the LG 55LM9600 or 55LM8600 or 55LM6710 or 55LM5800 or 55LW6510...
