Thread: Hisense 55T36 Owners Thread

I have just been contacted by hificorp, they apologised and said that they would try and find me another tv with the same spec. It will be interesting to see what they come back with.
Again, I am very impressed with HifiCorp's customer service, they really seem to be trying.

Hificorp and Hisense have offered me the Hisense XT710 as a replacement for the 55T36. Personnally I think this is very good of them, its just a pity the XT710 is an Active 3D tv

I think I might just credit the lot and get the LG 47LM5800, game has it on special for R9700. 8 inches is quite a chop though. What to do what to do.

Ok, I have returned the Hisense and bought a LG 47LM5800. The blacks are good, still a little light bleed tho. I will upload pics tonight.

I dont think this tv is going to do either though, it has a gloss screen and is SUPER reflective. Daytime viewing in pretty much impossible. Anyway, I guess this is my last post on the 55T36 Owners Thread.

You do realise you'll have blacklight bleeding on just about every LCD at full brightness, even at half brightness.

If its that much of a problem for your viewing environment and you must have FPR passive 3D, your best option would be the 2011 LG models, they have matt front filters. Ask them if they have any 47LW5700 or 47LW6510 available to swap.

True to varying degrees, but theres usually little reason to get neurotic about it unless your planning on spending a lot of time watching a black screen in pitch darkness.

With a moving picture on the screen even in low ambient lighting the slight variance in brightness is not going to be perceivable. Only time in practice this can be an issue is if the set has severe uniformity issues in the top/bottom part of the screen and you're watching letterbox format content i.e. uneven brightness in the top/bottom black bars.

So, I took the t36 back to HifiCorp and we compared it to 3 other unopened sets in the shop. Mine was definitely the worst of the bunch, so I took the best one home.

We watched a 3d movie last night, and I never found the bleed annoying, so I'll leave the issue now - assuming the set doesn't deteriorate...

    Cheers

I will upload the pics, under the same conditions, ie dark room, same black pic on the tv, you cannot see the TV in the photos, by eye you can see 2 small sections of lightbleed, other then that the screen is black. PQ on this set is fantastic, and the 3D colour representation is superb.

Sounds good, will be difficult escaping the inherent backlight problems without spending a truck load.

Would be nice if xrapidx posted pics too for comparison sakes. And he has a DSLR, so it should be more accurate than a muk n druk.

Currently, I am mainly used it for watching sport, movies, series, Dstv (SD decoder) and the occasional gaming.
Best to go check them out yourself to see which suits your preferences, but buy the one that leaves you enough cash to upgrade to an HDPVR. Sport is not what it should be unless its in FHD (1080i).

Yip . it has back-light bleeding, but its not noticeable... and on full black scenes the software turn off the back-light anyway, so you seldom see it, in fact- the only time I see it is when turning the screen on.

If I put on a black background, the screen with be 100% black As in, it looks off.

As soon as Hisense give them reason to, I guess.
