Daing
If you don't understand the argument well enough that you could switch sides and represent the other team, stop arguing.
Bring in the army! No on even knows why these animals are on the rampage.

interesting, this article and video highlights the two things i always thought, that not all crime is malicious as with the lady that stole food coz she was deperate and hungry, and the fact that crime is harder in the townships than it is in the wealthier residential areas

Was there this much crime in the townships pre 1994?
Or was everyone more joined together to fight a common cause.
Sounds like xenophobia to me.a man from Malawi
Either way I would like to see them tackle the bigger problem of corruption this way, politicians/councillers/community leaders stealing and mismanaging our money deserve such a beating even more.

Agreed. I reckon people in the suburbs will react in similar ways if the crime levels get anywhere near what it is in the townships. It is unfortunately the only way to send a message to criminals: do your worst, but beware the day you are caught.
As for the police - today they arrest the suspected criminal. Tomorrow he is released because of a lost docket, or lack of evidence, or he gets jailed & released from prison a couple of years later. Either way, he will return to the same township with 10 of his buddies and seek out those who reported him.
And let the children watch - it will make them think twice before becoming criminals themselves.
