Thread: Nedbank Online Banking

    Default Nedbank Online Banking

Nedbank wants me to run windows to use their banking software. I just bought a Mac. Will I have to partition the drive and run windows or is there a work around?

If I have to partition it .....is it worth it?
    How long?
    What tips and pitfalls?

Or should I just change to another just as useless, rip off artist South African Bank?

If you are talking about their stupid personal money manager, don't waste your time installing windows for that.
There are alternatives out their. Look @ Moneysmart.co.za

You can use any internet browser for Netbank. I have been using it for over 20 years. Btw, I find Safari for Windows very good. Chrome was getting slow to load (40 seconds) and Firefox is incompatible with the Netbank website

I use a Mac and their Online Banking works fine on my Mac and Safari.
It's completely rubbish, but it's consistently rubbish between Windows and OS X

If you have to run Windoze, it's probably easier to run it in a Virtual Machine than in a separate partition. VirtualBox works great for me and is free, alternately look at Parallels.

What he said, I run several VM's for development environments and all run on VirtualBox without any problems.

That is just brain-dead from Nedbank, they should be supporting the Mac platform. I have been with Nedbank for like 25 years, but lately FNB really does look like a better option - just biding my time.

Also been using Firefox on my iMac for the online banking with no issues, but I see you have a different requirement..

Just switched to FNB after banking with Std Bank for 19 years - cant deal with bloated companies that dont innovate and who charge exorbitant fees for nothing.
