    Default !!HELP!! Billion 7300nx Router & iBurst USB dongle

    Good morning all,

    Is there anyone out there that can help me out?

    I recently joined iburst, got the Billion 7300nx 3G/Wireless router and the iburst USB dongle.

    1) First time when I plugged the dongle into the router everything worked, BUT really slow... and keep on getting the red light on the router (internet) even though I am connected.

    2) So my next step, i downloaded and installed the billion 7300nx latest firmware update (Billion-7300NX_A_v2.02b.afw)

    3) everything went well, and i can see a few changes within the router's gui.

    4) but NOW, I keep on getting WAN PORT --> configuration fail! (at least the red light is gone). and cant get the freakin thing connected. Something that I did notice, was on the previous firware version there was an option to tick iBurst connection, and on the latest version there ios no such option.

    5) then Plugged the iburst usb dongle direct into PC and got good speeds.

    6) plugged vodacom 3g dongle into router, and was connected one time shoe shine!

    So now with tears in my navy blue eyes, WHAT IS GOING ON? can it be the firmware version?

    Please please help?

    Hi Sitting_Bull,

    I hope you are well.

    Yes this can be sorted by a simple firmware upgrade and the firmware you downloaded is not the one you need to make the Iburst work fine. Please download the firmware from this link: http://www.billionsa.com/support/dow...irmware/3g.php

    The firmware you need is 2.04b-7

    mmmmm......

    one thing I noticed just now is.....

    the firmware I installed (from Billion international site) last night is:
    http://www.billion.com/support/downl....html#fd7300nx

    Billion-7300NX_A_v2.02b.afw

    firmware I just downloaded (from Billion South-African) site is:
    http://billionsa.com/support/download/firmware/3g.php

    BiPAC 7300NX_v2.04b-7.afw

    different versions of firmware from the two locations?

    will install the South-african version tonight and let you guys know...

    WOW !!!! thank you so much for the quick response. unbelievable!

    must say was a bit skeptic when I got the router , but with support like this , its awesome. really thank you for the reply and assistance.

    Anyone have any idea why it doesn't allow me to download the firmware correctly from the SA site? it just keeps coming down as "BiPAC" It's the correct sixe though. If I get the overseas on it gives me the correct name?

    What happens if you rename the file to have the correct name and extension?
