Default Give 10 really really good reasons to root.

    So far only found two.
Will in the future but only if the list gets long enough

    1. Avast phone tracking even if phone is wiped.

    2. Full Ubuntu install

  2. #2

    Default

    Will have to add this:

    3. DroidWall - Android Firewall (simply because of SA's restrictive 3g pricing).

This looks fun but only if I find 7 other reasons.
Live dmesg boot ani and live logcat boot ani

For me the biggest reason, well the only one that I needed, was the ability to remove bloat.

Applications that is not needed that runs in the background consuming battery life and CPU cycles, anything after that is just a bonus.
.... and thanks for all the fish.

lol, yea, went through those, found 1 I was really interested in.

Removing unneeded background services is not something I really need to do as yet, the phone is plenty fast for me.

    Depends on the Phone/ROM.

In Xperia its the Music, Whatapp and Facebook integration. Also the EA and PS store links. Come to think of it, anything that is not in Stock goes bye bye.

What I normally do after that is install Watchdog Task manager on whatever device I have and see what kicks off automatically and then decide if I need it or not.

Pity you sitting with the same phone as me, so I know recommending MIUI will be a waste as its not out yet for us

Oh well, we just have to wait for someone to do it, if the push comes I'll build one but don't have the time or the energy to do it now.

    1. You are giving root access to anything that can access your phone?
    2-10. See 1 above

    Erm no.

With https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...fou.android.su installed you still get to decide what apps can and can not have this access

For example the one built into MIUI on my HTC looks like:

Only those 2 have root access and that is because I gave them access.
