Default HTC Desire S (gmail push notifications not working)

    Hi okes

I have tried everything online and I cant seem to get this working on my SO's phone.

I initially had it setup as a gmail account (under the android mail app) and did all the settings according to online resources. Enabled the IMAP setting under gmail on a PC, I did everything. Doesnt work.

Then I remembered that I had to set my iPhone up as MS Exchange mail... So I did that and enabled all the goodies and push notifications... still nothing

    What am I doing wrong?

Have you actually enabled push on said phone, AKA AutoSync in settings.

You only had to setup exchange on an iphone cuz its rubbish.

Push Mail notification is broken since the last HTC Android update. The best you can do for her is set it to sync every 5 minutes.
    Nothing....

The stock Email app is better than the Gmail app

The best solution is to download MailDroid from the marketplace. It receives mails instantly.
