Have plenty more flash drives arriving in the week so speak to Graham in Cape Town branch to reserve some for you

In Midrand had clients waiting from 5:30am, in Cape Town from 7am in Durban from 7:30am
and at around 8:00am in Port Elizabeth , apart from a few products that we capped a limit , it is First come First serve , get used to it we have been doing this for 13 years already and there is no way around limiting clients

Hi Graham, missed out on the Kingston Data Traveler 100 G2 32GB @ R159. Can you reserve 2 for me at the same price?

Firstly, thanks for the awesome pricing.

    Then...

I was @ the Midrand branch @ 08h30 on Saturday morning.

The payment queues in the Xpress shop were insane.

While I realise that the specials were supposed to be walk-in, having only two sales guys (Ilyaas & Paul) on duty wasn't good enough. The switchboard lady kept on putting calls through, which made placing orders with these two overworked gentlemen even more frustrating. To quote your white board "Man who makes many sales gets big incentive", should probably read "Man who can put up with June 16th chaos has balls of steel & will receive massive bonus!?!"

I placed my orders. Go to hand in my Sales Orders, wait for ages, only to be told that the some of the stock isn't available. Huh?!? But I just successfully placed an order.

An example was the Asus P8H67-M LE. There was only one in stock when I placed my order just after 09h00, twenty minutes later while waiting for the invoice to pay - "Sorry there is no stock available. You have to go back to the sales person & have them amend the order" - WTF?!? Have you seen the queues & do you want me to be lynched by the people who are still patiently queuing?!? So I did what any good South African does & caught the sales guy on the way back from the printer so that he could amend the order. I call that stealth interception, others would call that being a bastid.

It also doesn't make sense to hand in Sales Orders to the guys waiting to pick stock & then having to re-queue to hand back the paid invoice in order to collect stock, this while everyone is working over each other to try & help people. Create a decent queuing system e.g. Separate the handing in of Sales Orders for picking & handing back of paid invoices for collection.

So, the order/collection system sucks & definitely needs some attention before the next big sale.

Point taken , will give this info to the operations guys to work on , but remember that is the exception as we have never opened the Main dispatch and Stores during sales or public holidays and during normal trading times the systems works just fine

In fact by opening the main section and dispatch , one client joke that we should called this section the Xpress Store during these sales as the Xpress Store was Chaos, overall I am sure the over 1500 clients had a good experience and there was not really major issues
In terms of getting stocks and the wait.

On Wednesday I went to an Lighting and Electrical place to purchase an outdoor light for my house after seeing what I wanted in the showroom and gave my order to the sales man , I had to wait One Hour for a R 450.00 item and there was only 3 customers in the warehouse

I asked that sales man why so long for one item , he told that was the company rules that every customer must wait ,this made think that waiting at Esquire when purchasing R30K and over 50 or 60 items and waiting 20-30 minutes is not that bad any longer

But we will keep trying to better the time as we already view daily CCTV footage of clients that wait too long to find why there was a hold up and how we can fix this –so thank for your comments

Just wanted to say thanks to Esquire for the great specials. Managed to convince the hubby to get out of bed early and pop through to Midrand. We got there at 8.30 and were 20th in the queue.

We were the last of the first 20 allowed into the store on the first go. It was a touch confusing, we walked the aisles flat before we realised that the Harddrives were not on the shelves and were at the payment counters.
I went to queue at the till while Hubby grabbed a few more things he wanted and then we waited. Took about 5min, we were at the till (we got in at the start of the payment crush).

Grabbed 2x3TB HDDs and 2x2TB Freecom Toughdrives (BTW thank you for reading my suggestion post and adding these to the specials list! It was exactly what I had been looking for and needing for ages.) and despite the POS being a bit difficult we were out the store by 9.30.

All the staff were really friendly and patient and helpful. The only (minor) complaint we had was that the braziers outside to help keep us warm while we queued (and we do appreciate the thought) were very smokey and a bit smelly. We left reeking of smoke which was a touch unpleasant. Otherwise it was a not at all unpleasant experience like we had thought it would be. Nice and calm, controlled, great vibe, decent deals.

    Thanks & Happy 13th Birthday!
