Can you play online FPS games with 8ta

Im considering to get the 60gig promo deal from 8ta, but I really want to know if any of you guys use it to play games online like BF3 or COD?

How much data do a person on average use in 1 hour of play?

I tried the 3GB promo and it was terrible. My ping was in the 600ms range.

When my ADSL was acting up, getting 8000ms ping, I bought an 8ta sim. Now my location is in three rivers, near vereeniging, which is kinda a major center. Anyway, MTN, Vodacom and cell c were all crap. As in no 3g. however, 8ta had a steady 4Mbps download rate. And my ping was in the region of 60-100ms. Things were playable, however, 3G or the equivalent is a no go if you're serious about gaming. 100ms is far too high if you take gaming more serious than the average person who dabbles.

Bottom line, I wouldn't invest so much in one go on 3G. Rather get a prepaid sim, borrow a modem, and test.

In an hour of playtime, plus using teamspeak, I think I was averaging 70Mb. But a mate was doing 45 or so. So all really depends what else is running.

D3 is only just playable, and not so great when there's a lot of guys...

Yes, I've used it. It is possible, but its not as consistent like ADSL is. You'll have on days and off days. I now have ADSL, but have plenty of guys I play with online who use 3G for both COD and BF3.

I would try to test playing them in your area with a friends 3G modem or something. Some people are ok while others its unplayable.
