FAIL if you can't supply stock. Same happened with the Sportage and Cerato.
I agree to an extent.. but they have sold plenty... its not like they only brought 10 in. The stock problem is world wide, KIA has been selling 20+ % more cars year on year for the past three years. Four years ago they were nowhere, today Hyundai/Kia are in the top 4 car manufacturers in the world if you look at volumes.

It all comes down to value for money. The Kia Picanto is much better value for money than a VIVO for instance.

Fair enough. And they are not the only brand with stock issues. But you would think they would have seen this coming and made provisions to ensure they bring in enough stock to supply demand. I am no expert so what I just said may mean peanuts to a industry professional.

Bought 1.4 Sedan last week. Last three weeks had the option between 3 different ones. Just phone dealers every week. New stock cancellations etc. Were chasing 4 dealers in Gauteng.

Thanks a lot guys for the replies. I really appreciate them.

I test drove the car today and I must say, I like the sedan more, even though I didn't get behind its wheel. Is there a noticeable difference between the models? I don't want to spend much. Is it a good idea to take the 72 months payment plan and try pay it quicker or it doesn't matter if I plan to keep the car for about 3.5 years? As I said, this will be my "first" car, the midge I had was a car my mom bought me when I was still at varsity.

One more thing, how does this car, 1.4, compare to the i20 Remix?

Yea, but it looks like crap. The new Kia Picanto looks awesome. I never thought i'd ever want to drive a tiny small car looking like a Fiat Uno, but the new Picanto certainly changed my mind

Default Kia will never see me again...

I was looking for a Kia Rio 1.4 Tec since January.... every month they have a different excuse and you always are "1st on the list"
What a load of BS... I get that this car is value for money and it smashes it's competition...etc.
Thing is what is it worth if it's impossible to buy one nevertheless one in the colour you want...

I went and drove every car in my budget (max 200K) and dicided on the Fiesta 1.6 Titanium, the salesman gave me 17K discount and I only paid R196000 for my car and believe me I drove the Rio and it cant even begin to compare...

Picked up my car yesterday!! I am the happiest man alive! lol

If you take more than one day to buy a car you are a girl.

I bought my car in one day, actually all three of the cars I had I bought in a single day.

Thanks a lot guys for your input, I really appreciate it. I am taking the sedan. I am just finalizing finance now, but I'm also looking too see if I can't get a better deal, coz it would be great if I could get the Tec at a huge discount.
