Guys Please be aware ,if u have taken the 2gig speacial 12 month ago which vodacom had ,on the 13 month you will be paying R349 for 2gigs

What a ripoff to change me R349.00 for 2gig.

This was a special which was 349.00 but the promotion cost was R149 for 12 months.

Vodacom needs to give me (us ) full credit of R200-00

Cos all vodacom contacts for 2gig advertised are between 149.00 (2 gigs ) and 199.00 (3gigs)

How can vodacom change R349.00 for 2gigs

Not a happy vodacom customer:mad:

See here posted by the Vodacom representative, jannievanzyl, last year. Weren't you made aware of this when you signed?

From ocleroux, another oke working for Voda, in that same thread:
Once your 24 month, or in this case, 12 month contract reaches it's term data, you have to give us written permission to terminate the line and cease billing."

So you can just cancel now without penalty and just take up a new one for 24 months at R149. In fact, there's a discount if you don't take the new modem with it.

Hi, I am in the same situation, I received my billing now and found out that they have billed me R349.00 on the 13th Month. What a rip off, even though they said that we moved onto a month to month contract they should have left the pricing the same and not rip us off. They deffinately need to give a credit for R200.00

There is nothing stopping Vodacom from sending Customers sms's advising them to upgrade their contacts ,cos they sms you when your voice contact needs upgrading and customer care calls reminding you of your upgrade date.

The issue here is charging R349.00 for 2gig's ,i dont mind paying R349.00 then Vodacom give me 4 gigs or 6 gigs for that price.
I have cancelled this data contact now ,but thats not the end of me ,i still want a credit .

The agreed price you pay should be for the duration of the contract & in this case 12 months. I have cancelled mine to after calling them & finding out it would go to R349 on month 13. If you want the R149 then sign a new 24 month contract.

In contract is always cheaper then out of contract.

Or just upgrade the line with the new deals instead of cancelling. Will be easier and quicker.

Had to inform everyone around me of this, never received any form of SMS or phone call that contract was running on it's end period. I check through all the sms'es at that time didnd't find a thing, only "you won a million" and usage messages.
Upgrading to 3x3 would be best bet, unfortunately due to Vodacom's "timing" on promotions I lost out on that...

why is this?

I would understand if it was a touch cheaper to make it more appealing, but on contract its R149 a month for 2gb and prepaid its R349 for 2gb

R200 extra?? really?? :wtf:

Vodacom, its simply immoral but a lot of us no choice so of course you dont change it

This was made clear to me when I took out the contract originally. I didn't even have to ask the VDC rep about this. I guess the rep I dealt with was a bit mor pro-active to explain how the contract works.

Moral of the story (again): NEVER take data on a contract! Pricing changes just too fast these days to be locked into a deal which might be totally unfavourable six months down the line.

well you can now cant you? correct me if Im wrong but a contract that is signed now can be disbanded upon request according to new legislation?

I kinda knew this would happen, called them 2 months before the contract expires (end of this month).

Vodacom was shortsighted in not seeing that this kind of fallout would occur 12 months down the line.

I think they were counting on it.

Many people out there that won't notice the difference.

Busy fixing that for you ;)

When we launched the new promotions, we realised many of you on the original Mofaya 2+2 promotion would just miss out on upgrading to the new promotion, so I changed the business rules to upgrade from month-9 onwards - down from the normal month-11.

So we actually tried to be proactive in not letting you run into Month-to-Month at R349. A good 100K of people used this option so far.
