Default Damn My Tyres Are Expensive

So I'm sure you guys know I got myself a Honda Ballade about two months ago. Love the car.

Last week though I decided to drive up a pavement and pop my tyre. Not repairable as it's at the wall.

My tyres are 185 55 16 Good Year Excellence. Honda just quoted me R2076

Anyone know of where I can get it cheaper?

Erm surely you can get a tyre from Super Quick for less than half that price. Unless I am missing something a 16" Hancook / Dunlop shouldn't be more than R800 - R1000.

Not even the Hancooks on my Audi A4 cost near that.

Sounds like Honda are taking the pi$$.

If you are in the Randburg area, go to Jody's tyres on Braam Fisher. Excellent service and I doub't you will pay more than R1k for tyre and fitment.

Why would you buy tyres from a car dealer?

No one else has that specific tyre. Of course I want a decent tyre as well.

Bridgstone ER370 was my second choice at about R1700.

Look I can get cheaper tyres. But want something decent.

Even a decent tyre shouldn't be costing you R2k.

Which makes me think.... Yours is accident damage. See if you can claim back from your insurance?
