Watched it also, not the crappiest movie I have ever seen but it's up there. I felt like I was watching multiple movies at once since there simply was no story structure, at least the effects were good.

There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't.

But he was good back then, I was a big fan.
Actually, he still has it. The only part of the film receiving substantial amounts of negative buzz is the script, which he did not write. As far as the visuals go - which is Ridley's forte -, that is receiving almost universal praise, and especially the attention to fine detail.

Two key actors - who were under Scott's direction - are also receiving praise. Michael Fassbender is being mentioned in Oscar circles (doubt it will happen, but he's being lauded) and Noomi Rapace has received a number of impressive reviews considering it was her first major English-speaking role.

Thanks for the article - clears up some of the shoddy script for me.

I too would like my money back though. R49 for the movie, R49.50 for a combo of popcorn, cola and Whispers.

Another R60 and I could've been sipping on a 10yr old KWV and Coke in my own home.

The pickings were so slim when I decided to go out and see a movie.

Still though, even with the "awesome visuals" - which they aren't really, cos technology allows anyone with a big enough budget to pull them off nowadays - it was a *** movie IMO.
    Shake&Bake™. That, just happened!

Still doesn't make it a 'Gem of a movie' IMO.

lol. I think a lot of viewers are just lazy to think deeper about the story and its meaning. This was a very clever sci-fi
