Apple apps store in SA is really bad. It shows you the app but then tell you it is not available. You cannot buy in rands. It is just crazy. No wonder people jailbreak and steal apps. And do not even try to find out why or contact core for info as they will not even reply to mails.
    Google apps are great

Unlikely, there are regional licensing issues for music and movies (not just for the listed app stores, I even have this problem on PSN)

I agree with you. I've only recently acquired my first iOS device (4s) after two BB's (forced by work) and an HTC Legend (android). The appstore available is weak. Categorization of products and search functionality is poor. The lack of availability of apps to SA is frustrating to say the least, The android market was far easier to navigate and search for items, and generally a lot more user friendly. Used the BB appstore once in just over a year across two devices.

MMM bad comparison. Should be about quality not quantity. I have found that the Istore apps exceed most google apps in terms of quality. Talking about reference apps

Buying something from the Android market is as easy as pie. To do it on Apple market is a real PITA.

I really really did not know that iOS games were unavailable in SA. That's just sad. Worse than HTC shafting the local market. Oh well ! Android yay !

This is why so many iOS users circumvent the local store and open US accounts.

Simple solution: change your country in iTunes to Kenya, and you can both access games and all the apps as well as pay with SA credit cards.
.... and thanks for all the fish.

There is but you need to create the account through iTunes. Had this issue when setting up the SU's iPad.
