Yesterday, I received a final notice e-mail, exactly 3 weeks after I submitted my return, demanding that I upload my supporting documents.
Hmmm, I did that minutes after the request to do this when I first filed, the status even showed [Documents Submitted To SARS]. Just for good measure, I uploaded everything again.
Last week I phoned to enquire & was told that I must "be patient", because "we are very busy".
After the final demand letter yesterday, I phoned the call center this morning & was told that this was an IT related matter & it would be escalated.
Two hours later received an SMS informing me that my assessment had been completed & a statement of account had been issued.
Now, instead of approximately R11500.00, they are going to refund me approximately R9500.00
Need to investigate why I am not receiving the full amount...Bastids!?!
But I'll take the R9500.00 in the mean time...Still need new tyres![]()
Mine still says on hold![]()
Same thing happened to me for the last 2 years at roughly the same percentages as yours. I initially got about just under 10% very quickly, then I appealed and got the full whack after a few weeks.
It's only at this time of year when I get my tax rebate that I appreciate working away from home![]()
To those that received a request for supporting documents to be submitted - how was this request relayed to you? Did you receive an email / SMS or were you notified only through the efiling portal?
I received an e-mail almost immediately & the status update on the E-Filing portal had also changed.
OK cool.... no email and nothing other than my assessment in the portal.... waiting for the payout now![]()
@ flashsa, when did you submit?!?
You should received an immediate response & payment within two days if nothing has gone wrong or a request for documentation has been been issued.
If there has been a request for supporting documentation, you will see a new section displayed on the [Returns] page:
[SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS]
Also check out the [NOTICE OF ASSESSMENT] a.k.a. ITA34 & the [STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT] a.k.a. ITSA for more information.
I did my return yesterday afternoon. As soon as I submitted the IT3A was released with my assessment. Logged in this morning to check and there are no supporting document requests.....
Should have the bucks tomorrow morning if last year is anything to go by. This years refund is awesome. Stupid me did not enter my medical aid contributions last year so I missed out on several grand![]()
FNB SMS sitting on my phone this morning. KACHING!![]()
