Does anyone know what this means:

We refer to your Notice of Objection (NOO) dated 2012-08-08.

We have evaluated your request for an objection and have established that you did not submit a preceding request for remission. As a result your request for an objection is invalid.

SARS are really ****ing me around this year... I just got a letter saying I need to file a SEPARATE dispute on an item I declared as income, which was based on a deduction they declined. Because the deduction was declined, the income is no longer relevant.

So I submitted an objection on the code, and get the above.

What happens after 30 working days after I have submitted my supporting documents and I have not received my refund yet?

    Phone them.....

I phoned last week and it had only been 2 weeks since submitting documents. The lady said it will take the full 30 days but surprise surprise the money was in my account on Saturday morning. I reckon the phone call speeds up the process......

Strange.... the return I received a payout for was my 2010 return which I redid..... so they processed mine which is a year old faster than yours which I assume is for 2011

I called today and they told me it's 60 days waiting. That's after I logged a dispute and uploaded all my supporting docs on the 30th July.

Yesterday was working day no. 30 since I've submitted my supporting documentation. On previous calls to the call centre I was told to be patient until the 14th August 2012 (day no. 30). Yesterday I was told by the call centre consultant that my audit would be finalized in 3 to 12 months.

Finally I get this letter on my e-filing page.

    "FINALISATION OF AUDIT

Please note that audit of your personal tax affairs for the 2012 year of assessment has been finalised.

In terms of the outcome of this audit no adjustment has been made in respect of your assessment. Your IT34 Notice of Assessment issued to you therefore stands.

Please note that in terms of the Income Tax Act (1962) the South African Revenue Service reserves the right to conduct further audits in the future if required.

Thank you for your co-operation and assistance during this investigation."

    How long before the payout?

Nothing since 20/7 for me when I uploaded some requested documents. Phone calls haven't helped either

I got payed out an initial amount but they disallowed some deductions that where valid. I disputed the new assessment as the original one was correct and have yet to hear back from them 3 weeks later. At least I have 80% of what I am owed in my account but they still owe me a bit.
